How much Vitamin C can I take before OD-ing?

This week has been pretty good so far, a 180 degrees change from last week when there were so many bottled up feelings and words left unsaid. Sometimes, it is necessary for things to get ugly before peace ensues.

Poor fatty the goldfish is down with a bad flu, but luckily it is not the dreaded swine flu, phew! I've been marinating in his germs for two days now, and it will be a miracle if I do not catch the sniffles. I must be crazy enough to be stretching the capabilities of my immune system to such an extreme extent. Please do not fail me now, immune system! Would a daily dose of 1000mg of Vitamin C be enough to ward off the dreadful cold and sorethroat? Well, we shall find out soon enough.

3 Day Week?

Heehee. I felt tons better after chatting with Grace, the fellow true-blue emo person. I was happy to hear that me being in Arizona was another reason for you to go to Mexico, and that we are gonna travel together!!!

Right now I am registered for 3 courses at the partner university, and they take up only 2 days.. Hopefully I'll have a 3 day week i.e Tues-Thurs, which will leave Friday and Monday free.. All the better for me to travel around heeheehee!

Why does it seem like I am more affected by this?

Why am I so emotional, whereas you are the epitome of calmness?

Why are you so optimistic all the time? Not everything has a brighter side to it, not every cloud has a silver lining, and it's ok to be upset about that.

I don't want to be compared with other people who supposedly have it worse than us. Even if they do, I simply don't care because that doesn't change the way things are right now.

I feel so frustrated at times I feel like screaming until my lungs give way. I wish that you'd realise that two and a half weeks is a fucking short duration, just 20 short days away, and I'd probably get to see you not more than five times before you go.

Cracking jokes will do very little to cheer me up, in fact, they make me feel worse at times. The only thing that would make me feel better is you realising that the time we have together is so short, and hopefully that will be manifested in your actions and choice of words.

Chomp Chomp! at Shokudo

Last Tuesday, fatty the goldfish and I had dinner at Shokudo, which is a Japanese-themed, Marche-like restaurant. We waited a grand total of 1 minute to get a table at 7.00pm, which was great because just a few minutes later after we got in, a long queue, consisting of hungry and grumpy people formed.

Being hungry (but not grumpy), we bought two bowls of ramen to satiate our hunger. Big mistake! Even though I could barely eat anything much after that, fatty the goldfish, with his bottomless pit of a stomach, was only about half full and wanted to gobble more food. Heehee.

As with Mache and other themed food bazaars such as Shokudo, there are inevitable hits and misses. While the ramen was palatable, the same cannot be said for the ham and cheese omelette. The latter was so salty that eating it was tantamount to chomping on table salt. I had to buy a drink in order to get through dinner, so I bought the Yoghurt Milk drink, which was regrettably a dubious concoction that tasted remotely of yoghurt, and more like a blend of lime juice and milk. Oh well, but the drink tasted increasingly better after consuming more mouthfuls of the excessively salty omelette.

After eating the omelette, we somehow managed to wolf down scallops, bacon wrapped quail eggs, miso soup (I did not drink this), and a bowl of sour-tasting mushroom soup. The first two were nice, but not spectacular. I was really grossed out by the orange part of the scallop, which FTG so grossly dissected right in front of me. Although I am not intimately accquainted with the anatomy of scallops, the weird tasting orange stuff, which has the consistency of liver, is probably some kind of roe. Eeeks. I am not a fan of roe!

Dessert was really good though. Even the fruit hater loved the banana caramel crepe. Yay!

All in all, I think I may revisit this restaurant again, but not in the near future. Shokudo is big on variety, but the standard of some of the food leaves a lot to be desired.

Movie marathon!

Raf and I are still slightly ill so we decided that shopping/walking around would be too strenous. Instead, we went movie crazy today and we watched two movies - Drag Me to Hell and Blood.

Drag Me to Hell is an awesome knock-your-socks-off horror movie! I've watched many horror movies over the years but nothing has scared me this shit-less since Shutter, which I have watched way back in secondary school. Even though the plot of DMTH sounds insipid and done-to-death, the actual movie is one of the best horror movies amongst many crappy movies that Hollywood has churned out over the years. The excellent and timely sound effects, which greatly aid in building tension, keeps you at the edge of your seat throughout the whole movie, and this is what sets it apart from the rest of the Hollywood crap. Highly recommended for horror movie junkies, and anyone who wants a good scare. Movie Rating: 4.25/5.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Blood. While the adrenaline filled fight scenes are exciting to watch, the rest of the plot is probably as thin as attention whore Bai Ling's clothes. As for the characters, there is insufficient development of main characters, and in contrast, there is too much focus on characters that do not really play a significant role in the movie. The vague and abrupt ending also leaves movie-goers confused and in disbelief that the movie has come to an end, due to many questions that are unanswered by the end of the movie. If you have yet to watch this movie, it would perhaps be better to view it online at some video streaming website, because you may exit the cinema regreting that your money has been ill spent. Movie Rating: 3/5.

More sick than you can ever imagine

I woke up with a horrible fever for 2 days straight and I swear I thought I was down with swine flu. How can someone, who is perfectly healthy, wake up to a fever of 38.8 degrees C? That is just insane. I was totally freaking out yesterday because panadol only managed to reduced my fever by a pathetic 0.4 degrees C. Luckily a trip to the doctor assuaged my fears as I found out that the fever was due to a yucky throat infection, and I was prescribed a more kick-ass remedy for fever = Ibuprofen. This stuff is so potent that it reduced my fever by 2 degrees C in less than 3 hours and I am feeling relatively better now save for the sorethroat. :) Awesome shit.

Description - L'Oreal True Match Concealer in Fair/Light

Price - About $12

Pros - This product offers good coverage of undereye circles and blemishes

Cons - Not long lasting, settles into fine lines, looks cakey after applying a second layer, accumulation of the product at the mouth of the container resulting in frequent spillage

Crappy/Not bad/Awesome - Crappy

I was really excited about this product when I first applied it, because if seemed to cover my undereye circles much better than my old concealer. However, after putting this concealer to the test, it proved to be mediocre, and the packaging is really lousy too because I have to constantly clean the mouth of the container to minimize excess product from spilling out and messing up my make up bag. The constancy of this concealer is really thick too, so if you are looking for a light weight concealer, this may not be the product for you. Although I have used 3/4 of this concealer, I will not make a repeated purchase because I believe there are other better concealers.

The past few days have been nothing but pure fun and indulgence for me, because the stinking exams are finally over! Wheee..

LLM paid us a visit in school on Tuesday after our last paper. Since none of us were expecting him, we were thoroughly and pleasantly surprised! DM, LLM, Raf and I headed to Vivo to have dinner and I felt rather strange to be in a shopping mall, because the last time I went shopping was probably 1000BC. Nevertheless, we had a great time hanging out and hearing about LLM's SEP experiences.

Went out with Sheena on Wednesday for some shopping but we ended up eating and eating and doing retarded stuff, but it was really fun and I am gonna miss her coz she's overseas now :(

Thursday was the first time in ages (ok maybe like 2 and a half weeks) that I've last gone out with Raf, and to his dismay we didn't get to eat at the place he wanted coz it was fully booked. Heehee poor Raf.

We went to this place instead...

...to eat my favourite pasta! Seriously, this is a really good plate of Seafood Aglio Olio.

Too bad I can't say the same about this though - the Pussyfoot is practically tasteless.

Random but pretty lights.

I love this movie! Contrary to what others have said, I do think that this is a really good show, and it is worth watching at least once.

On another note, I may be doing some make up reviews this holidays mainly because I really have nothing much to do as of yet, and also because some products are really crap shit and a total waste of money, while others are totally HG material. ( I don't really know what HG means, I learned that phrase from some make up website, but I'm guessing it means "Holy Grail". And no, it doesn't mean Hard Gay.) Heehee.. Ok so keep a look out for that!

Today, as I reached home from church, I was greeted by dreadful wailing sounds courtesy of one of the neighbours living in the same block of flats. My eardrums were begging to be spared from the torture that was reverberating through them and my hands were covering my ears in a fruitless attempt to salvage what was left of my hearing.

Hellooo.....

This is like my 2737987983th blog but whatever I just felt like making a public blog for all my random ramblings..

For most of you who've seen me on a regular basis in school, you'd probably have noticed me wearing a cute but retarded t-shirt that has the caption "Cereal Killer". If not, you'll probably see it sometime soon as I have the penchant for wearing the same t-shirts once every two or three weeks. I like to wear the same stuff to school actually, it's not because of my limited wardrobe, but rather due to habit I guess? But in any case, I love cereal, and I especially love frosties drowned in chocolate milk wahaha.

Gosh I was so moody today, you have no idea how moody I was. But I am tons better now coz at least I went out for a bit, even though it was just for a mere 3 hours, because it sure beats shuffling to and fro school everyday for two weeks. BAH.. school sucks the life out of you! It has been non-stop 10% geog lab report -> 40% mol bio test -> 25% changing landscapes test -> 10% geog lab report -> 20% metabolism test Ahhhh! Next up is a 30% expt mod test omg...

But anyway at least I am feeling really peaceful now. It's late and the house is quiet and I am munching on a slice of banana cake that my mommy made..

Ok I gotta hit the books again. Will try to blog at least once every two days!
